Baseball Splits Two with Bridgewater State

- Location:  Bowditch Field – Framingham, Mass. 

Game 1: 

• In the opener, the Bears received a complete game shutout from Matt Josselyn. Josselyn went seven innings allowing just five hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. 

• The Bears jumped on the board with a pair of runs on RBI singles from Cam James and Dan Jasmin in the top of the first inning. 

• The Bears extended their lead to 6-0 with four runs in the top of the fourth inning. Kevin Linsday and Scott Emerson delivered RBI singles and Riley Thornell plated a pair of runs with a double. 

•  The Bears would add four more runs in the top of the fifth and two in the seventh to reach the final margin. 

• Vincent LoGuidice took the loss for the Rams going four innings, allowing six earned runs on nine hits with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Game 2: 

• Game two was a scoreless pitcher's duel between Framingham's Scott Nosky and Bridgewater's Matthew Seavey through four innings. 

• The Rams were able to put runs on the board against Seavey in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shane Costello led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. After an intentional walk, Robert Johnston delivered an RBI single to right for the game's first run. James GIlleran followed with an infield single plating the second run and Johnston scored the third run on a BSU error. 

• Nosky went four innings for the Rams before leaving the game. He allowed just one hit with a walk and seven strikeouts.  

• Anthony Panza came on in relief in the fifth and earned the victory on the mound tossing three scoreless innings. Panza allowed just one hit with five strikeouts and a walk. 

• Seavey went five innings allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits with nine strikeouts.

The Rams are back in action on Monday when they host Dean at 3:30 p.m., while the Bears host Mt. St. Mary on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
