Baseball Falls to Lesley

Lexington, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 19-8 by Lesley University in non-conference action this evening at Minuteman High School.     

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Lesley 19, Framingham State 8 

-Records: Framingham State (6-6), Lesley (4-6)  

- Location: Minuteman High School Lexington, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams grabbed a 3-0 lead after an RBI single from James Gilleran and a two run single from Steven Burbank in the top of the first inning. Lesley answered with five in the bottom of the frame taking a 5-3 lead. 

  • The Rams tied the game at five with two in the top of the third when Gilleran reached on an error allowing a pair of Rams to cross the plate. 

  • Lesley took the lead for good with two in the bottom of the frame, but the Rams got one back in the top of the fourth on a Shane Costello RBI single. 

  • Lesley would add four in the bottom of the fourth and seventh and two in the bottom of the fifth and eighth to account for their final runs, while the Rams added two in the top of the seventh. 

  • Lucas Basile finished the game 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and a run scored, while Burbank finished with a pair of hits and drove in two. Teddy Chisholm chipped in with a pair hits, while Gilleran drove in three. 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday when they face Western New England.
