Baseball Topples Fisher 14-4

Lynn, Mass. – The Framingham State University baseball team received three hits and four RBI from junior Aaron Williams (Brockton, Mass.) as the Rams defeated Fisher College 14-4 this evening in non-conference action at Fraser Field.

With the win, the Rams improve to 10-11 on the season.

Williams went three-for-six at the dish with three runs scored, a double and four RBI, while sophomore Anthony Venuti (Braintree, Mass.) also collected three hits with a double, a run scored and an RBI.  Sophomore Bobby Higgins (Barnstable, Mass.) went two-for-three with four runs scored while walking twice and graduated student Matthew Brockett (Guilford, Conn.) went one-for-three with a triple and an RBI.  Sophomore Andrew Curtis (Dracut, Mass.) added a double and drove in three runs.

Junior Matt Fogarty (Millis, Mass.) earned the victory on the mound tossing five innings of scoreless relief. Fogarty surrendered just one hit while striking out eight and walking four.  Junior Kevin Connelly (Bolton, Mass.) started for the Rams and went four innings allowing four earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Nichols College for a non-conference tilt beginning at 3:30 p.m.
