Baseball Falls to Salve Regina 18-15

Newport, RI – The Framingham State University baseball team tallied 12 hits and 15 runs, but were defeated 18-15 by Salve Regina University in non-conference action this afternoon.

With the win, Salve Regina improves to 5-7 on the year, while the Rams are now 7-8.

Senior Kyle Pileski (Bristol, Conn.) went two-for-four for the Rams with a grand slam, five RBI, three runs scored and two walks, while junior Joe Ambrosino (Bradeton, Fla.) also recorded a pair of hits with a double, two runs scored and two RBI.

Junior Aaron Williams (Brockton, Mass.) went three-for-five with two runs scored, two RBI and a double, while senior Cameron Borrelli (Peabody, Mass.) added a triple and four RBI.

Senior Chris Riga (Westfield, Mass.) started on the hill for the Rams and four and two thirds allowing eight runs, four earned, on nine hits with seven strikeouts and eight walks.  Junior Alex Erwin (Tewksbury, Mass.) took the loss allowing three earned runs in relief.

The Rams are back in action this weekend when they open MASCAC action against MCLA.
