Borrelli and Riga Earn Weekly MASCAC Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State senior Cameron Borrelli (Peabody, Mass.) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Week and senior pitcher Chris Riga (Westfield, Mass.) has been named MASCAC Pitcher of the week for the week ending March 18th.

Borrelli batted .419 (13-for-31) with five doubles, a triple, four home runs and 12 RBI with a .455 on-base percentage and 1.032 slugging percentage in a 5-3 week for the Rams. He went 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and five RBI in the 10-0 win over Concordia (Wis.), went 2-for-5 with a double, home run and two RBI in the 15-6 win over Dubuque College and went 1-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored in the 6-4 win over Macalaster College. Borrellu added a 3-for-5 performance with two runs scored, a double and home run in the 11-10 setback to Greenville University and went 4-for-4 with three doubles, an RBI and two runs scored in the 8-3 win over Carleton College.  

Riga went 2-0 on the week with a 1.50 ERA and 23 strikeouts for the Rams. He tossed a complete game shutout, scattering six hits with three walks and 14 strikeouts in the 10-0 win over Concordia (Wis.). Riga added five innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits with nine strikeouts and five walks in the 8-3 win over Carleton College.
