Tucson, AZ – The Framingham State University baseball team tallied five runs in the second inning and hit a pair of homeruns as the Rams defeated Dubuque 15-6 at Kino Stadium at the Tucson Invitational Game.

With the win, the Rams improve to 5-3 on the year, while Dubuque is now 3-4.

The Rams got on the board with five runs in the bottom of the second inning.  After loading the bases, sophomore Andrew Curtis (Dracut, Mass.) delivered a single through the right side scoring a pair of runs.  A single from junior Joe Ambrosino (Bradenton, Fla.) reloaded the bases, and classmate Aaron Williams (Brockton, Mass.) singled through the left side to score two more.  Ambrosino scored the fifth run of the inning on a fail pickoff attempt.

Dubuque got single runs in the bottom of the second and bottom of the third innings to cut the Rams lead to 5-2.

The Rams loaded the bases with no outs in the top fourth inning.  Curtis scored from third on a passed ball and junior Jordan Pallazola (Rockport, Mass.) delivered a sacrifice fly to left pushing the lead to 7-2.

The Rams added two more in the top of the fifth on a two run double to left by Ambrosino and two more in the sixth on a two run homerun to right by senior Cameron Borrelli (Peabody, Mass.).  The homerun was Borrelli's third in the last three games.

After Dubuque got a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth on a two run double, the Rams came right back with two more in the top of the seventh.  Sophomore Jeff Besozzi (Milford, Mass.) doubled and came around to score on a triple by Curtis.  Williams followed with an RBI double to center.

Dubuque got a single run in the top of the seventh on a bases loaded walk, but the Rams got a two run homerun from sophomore Anthony Herman (Stratford, Conn.) in the top of the eighth to push the lead to 15-5.  Dubuque added a single run in the bottom of the ninth to reach the final score.

The Rams rattled off 15 hits in the game including three from senior Kyle Pileski (Bristol, Conn.) and two apiece from Williams, Borrelli, Besozzi, Curtis and Ambrosino.

The Rams are off tomorrow, but are back in action on Thursday at Tucson Invitational Games when they face Macalaster in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. EDT.
