Tucson, AZ – Junior Aaron Williams (Brockton, Mass.) singled home classmate Kyle Lippert (Carlsbad, Calif.) in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Framingham State University baseball team to a 5-4 come from behind victory over Dickinson State at the Tucson Invitational Games.

With the victory, the Rams have won two straight and are now 2-3 on the year, while Dickinson State falls to 0-2.

Dickinson got on the board first with a single run on an RBI ground out by Ryan Absher in the top of the second inning and then pushed the lead to 2-0 in the top of the sixth on an RBI single to left by Absher.

Dickinson doubled the lead with two runs off a Dylan Skabo single in the top of the seventh.

The Rams answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.  Sophomore Anthony Venuti (Braintree, Mass.) doubled to right and junior Matt Fogarty (Millis, Mass.) plated Venuti with a single to center.  Sophomore Anthony Herman (Stratford, Conn.) delivered a two out, RBI single to right scoring Fogarty and Lippert followed with a double that scored Herman.

The Rams tied the game in the bottom of the eighth after loading the bases on a two out intentional walk to Fogarty.  Matt Brockett (Guilford, Conn.) worked the count full and sent a bouncer to short that was misplayed allowing the tying run to score from third.

After the first two runners reached base in the top of the ninth, junior Blake Waters (East Sandwich, Mass.) induced a double play ball and recorded a strikeout to end the inning and strand the go ahead run at third.

In the bottom of the inning, Lippert singled to center with one out and moved to third on a pair of wild pitches.  Williams followed with a single to right scoring Lippert and securing a walk off victory for the Rams.

Senior Mike Andrews (Stoneham, Mass.) started on the mound and did not factor in the decision. Andrews went seven innings allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts.  Sophomore Kevin Scerra (Marlborough, Mass.) tossed a scoreless inning of relief allowing just one hit and Waters earned the victory tossing a scoreless ninth.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow morning with a pair of games against Concordia.
