Men's Soccer, Volleyball and Women's Soccer to Compete in This Week's MASCAC Tournaments

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's soccer, volleyball and women's soccer teams have all qualified for their respective Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournaments which will take place this week.

The men's soccer team finished the regular season in second place with an overall record of 7-11-1 and 6-1 mark in league play.

As the number two seed, the Rams earn a first round bye and will host the winner of the #3 Bridgewater State/#6 Worcester State quarterfinal in one semifinal on Friday, November 5th.  The game will be played at Maple Street Field with a 6 p.m. start.

Top seed Salem State will host the winner of the #4 Mass. Maritime/#5 MCLA quarterfinal in the other semifinal on Friday.  The quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday and the winner of the two semifinals will meet on Sunday at the highest remaining seed. The winner of Sunday's final receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Men's Soccer Championships.

The volleyball team is the third seed in this week's MASCAC Volleyball Championship.  The Rams finished the regular season 14-15 overall and 5-2 in the MASCAC.

The Rams will host sixth seed Salem State in one quarterfinal on Tuesday night.  The game will be played at 7 p.m. at the Athletic Center.  The winner of that match will advance to the semifinals and face second seed Westfield State on Thursday night.

Fourth seed MCLA hosts fifth seed Bridgewater State in the other quarterfinal on Tuesday night with the winner of that match advancing to face top seed Worcester in the other semifinal on Thursday night. The winner of the two semifinals will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed. The winner of Saturday's final match receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Volleyball Championships.

The women's soccer team finished the regular season 5-11-1 overall and 3-4 in league play. The Rams earned the fourth seed in the MASCAC Tournament by virtue of their head to head victory over Salem State and will host the fifth seed Vikings on Tuesday night in one quarterfinal. The game will be played at Maple Street with a 7 p.m. start.  The winner will advance to face top seed Westfield State on Friday in one semifinal.

Third seed Bridgewater State hosts sixth seed Fitchburg State in the other quarterfinal on Tuesday with the winner of that game advancing to face second seed Worcester on Friday in the other semifinal.  The tournament concludes on Sunday with the winners of the two semifinals meeting at the highest remaining seed.  The winner of Sunday's final receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships.
